:: La Rencontre Fortuite sur une œuvre de Donald Judd d'une Montagne de Sable et d'un Lac

On 22 june 2007 DDV participated in an exhibition "Strike a Pose", curated by Philippe Pirotte at Circuit in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Here's what happened:

"On 18 june 2007 I took a suitcase down with me in the hole and shoveled some 20kgs of earth in it. I hauled the suitcase up, and the next day I took it on the plane to Genève and the train to Lausanne.
In the gallery I prepared a kind of installation which related to the work of minimal artist Donald Judd (1928 - 1994). Instead of perspex and aluminium shapes I used three old drawers that I found at the garbage dump.
At 18.00hrs on 22 june 2007 the exhibition opened. I put on my Chinese Raincoat, grabbed two empty buckets and took off to the lake - Lac Léman - , about a kilometer away from the gallery. At the lake I filled both buckets with water and went back to the gallery.
I stepped into the bottom drawer of my Donald Judd piece and proceeded to open the suitcase. I grabbed some of the earth inside and put it in the drawer above my head. Then I took some water from a bucket and poured it in the top drawer. Then I pryed some holes in the bottom of the drawer above my head.
I continued this activity while the water dripped from the top drawer in the one below, mixed with the earth, and streamed through the holes as mud over my head and down my body into the bottom drawer wherein I was standing."
